This year the SCBWI (Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators) began a Narrative Art Award. The contest asked for a series of 3 illustrations based on a mystery theme. After brainstorming many ideas and sketches, I finally decided on a mermaid mail carrier who delivers messages in bottles. Here’s a look at my entry:
